A sapphire crystal disc treated with anti-reflective coating is used, with a hole cut out within it the same size as the tourbillon, perfectly creating the illusion that the tourbillon cage is suspended in mid-air. This allows the entire mechanism to complete one levitating rotation per minute. Therefore, while the tourbillon completes one rotation per minute in the transparent open space, its cage completes one full rotation.
This "magic watch" is equipped with a manual-winding mechanical movement. To compensate for the weight of the regulating mechanism and the cage, part of the circular frame used for meshing the gears is made of karat gold and is mounted opposite the tourbillon, ensuring even weight distribution on both sides.
